Burak Özen

Burak Özen (b. 1987, Sivas) is a director and screenwriter. He graduated from the Film and Television department of Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University.

His first short, Iron Gate (2021), screened in the International Competition at Clermont-Ferrand. His documentary As the Waters Recede (2022) premiered in IDFA’s Envision section.

His debut feature, The Quiet Winterhouse (2024), screened in Competition at the Sarajevo Film Festival and won Best Director at Antalya Golden Orange.

He lives in İstanbul and is developing his second feature.
